Abstract

 Foreign body aspiration is responsible for unintentional death among children less than 1year old. They often presented with acute symptoms such as cough, dyspnoea, choking episode, wheeze or chronic symptoms such as recurrent pneumonia or chronic cough. High index of suspicion is needed to identify those children with symptoms of foreign body aspiration. Often, the history of aspirated will not be gathered immediately. Bronchoscopy is key treatment but it carries risk and consequences. We present a case of rare presentation of a 8 year child comes with stridor and subcutaneous emphysema due to pneumothorax secondary to vigorous cough caused by foreign body aspiration happened 6 months ago.
